Principal's Message

Principal, Anne Simpson, with children and their writing work.

As the proud Principal of Chapman Primary School, I welcome and invite you to learn about our dynamic school community. At Chapman, learning takes place in an engaging environment which encourages our children to be creative, think critically, and be independent and to develop self-confidence.

We warmly welcome children from preschool to year 6 school and look forward to engaging in partnership with their families to support the children to be responsible, caring and cooperative learners who will become globally responsible citizens of the future.

We are committed to developing the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Chapman Primary has high expectations for every child. Children actively participate in a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is planned, flexible, explicit, and dynamic and reflects the children's interests and needs. Information Communication Technology is embedded across the curriculum. School based enrichment programs and a differentiated approach to curriculum provide opportunities for children who are gifted and talented, as well as ensuring inclusive education for children with learning difficulties and special needs. Specialist programs include music, physical education, sustainability and Indonesian.

Learning which stimulates the intellect, challenges thinking and stimulates curiosity is paramount for both children and staff. We take pride in our strong academic achievements, and provide quality professional learning opportunities for our staff. At Chapman we love to learn and enthusiastically celebrate our achievements.

The school FRIENDS values of friendship, respect, integrity, everyone cooperates, never give up attitude, diversity and support underpin the school ethos. The school works towards achieving its mission by providing a positive climate of trust and respectful relationships in a  place where children feel valued, engaged and nurtured.

Open communication, the result of close partnerships between staff and parents provides a secure and cooperative learning environment for our children. Our door is open so please feel you can contact us at any time. I look forward to your involvement in our school and the lives of your children.
